50 Cent Compares Overseas Adulation to Michael Jackson’s Fame

50 Cent recently shared a memorable experience from his 2023 Final Lap Tour during an appearance on *The Late Show with Stephen Colbert*. Reflecting on his performance in Kazakhstan, the rapper humorously likened the fanfare he received to that of Michael Jackson.

“It’s unbelievable. They don’t know I’m not Michael Jackson,” 50 Cent joked, describing how fans chased his car in a frenzy reminiscent of Jackson’s iconic status. “It was so cool. It was unbelievable, Stephen. They chased the car like I’m Michael Jackson and shit. It was crazy.”

50 Cent, who has previously expressed admiration for Michael Jackson, sees similarities between the late King of Pop and contemporary artist Chris Brown. Last year, 50 posted a painting of Jackson crowning Brown, calling him “the best shit we got out here.” In 2019, he similarly praised Brown’s commercial success, comparing him favorably to Jackson in a social media post.

The rapper’s connection to Jackson extends to a humorous anecdote shared by comedian Chris Tucker, who recounted Jackson’s enjoyment of 50 Cent’s 2003 hit “In Da Club.” Tucker’s story, which 50 shared on Instagram, featured Jackson’s enthusiastic but humorous attempts to rap along to the song.

As 50 Cent continues to reflect on his career and influences, his tour experiences and public anecdotes underscore his lasting impact on the music industry.
