Chelsea are reportedly on the verge of securing a new nine-year contract for striker Nicolas Jackson, according to manager Enzo Maresca. The 23-year-old forward, who joined the Blues on an eight-year deal last summer, has impressed with 14 goals in his debut Premier League season and has added two more in his last two matches.
Following Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday, Maresca expressed his satisfaction with Jackson’s performances and confirmed the impending contract extension. "The only thing I know is he's signing a new contract - I don't know how many years," Maresca stated. "I'm very happy. Nicolas is doing a fantastic job with us. He scored again. He had more chances but we're happy with him."
The Athletic reports that Jackson's new contract will extend to 2033, a clear sign of Chelsea's commitment to the Senegal international. This decision comes amid ongoing speculation about Chelsea's search for another striker, with the club having explored options including Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen during the summer transfer window.
