Chelsea are reportedly on the verge of securing a new nine-year contract for striker Nicolas Jackson, according to manager Enzo Maresca. The 23-year-old forward, who joined the Blues on an eight-year deal last summer, has impressed with 14 goals in his debut Premier League season and has added two more in his last two matches.

Following Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday, Maresca expressed his satisfaction with Jackson’s performances and confirmed the impending contract extension. "The only thing I know is he's signing a new contract - I don't know how many years," Maresca stated. "I'm very happy. Nicolas is doing a fantastic job with us. He scored again. He had more chances but we're happy with him."

The Athletic reports that Jackson's new contract will extend to 2033, a clear sign of Chelsea's commitment to the Senegal international. This decision comes amid ongoing speculation about Chelsea's search for another striker, with the club having explored options including Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen during the summer transfer window.

Maresca acknowledged the pressure Jackson has faced, especially with the club's high-profile pursuit of new attacking talent. "I had faith, and the club also, even before [in Jackson]," he said. "We trust Nicolas. When the transfer window was open, I said he was doing fantastic with us."

The extension is expected to reinforce Chelsea’s trust in Jackson as a key figure in their squad, aligning with their strategic focus on stability and long-term planning. The club will continue to assess their options in the transfer market as they prepare for the January window.
