Louisiana rapper Boosie Badazz has made a public appeal for a presidential pardon, directed at either Vice President Kamala Harris or former President Donald Trump, depending on who wins the upcoming election. This plea comes as Boosie grapples with ongoing legal issues

.

On August 31, Boosie took to X (formerly Twitter) to detail his predicament. "MY CASE GOT DISMISSED FOR A RULING THAT WAS MADE N THE 9th CIRCUIT COURT .2 WEEKS LATER THE RULING GETS VACATED.SMH SOON AS I CELEBRATE THE LAW IS VACATED GTFOH I GOT SOME POWERFUL PEOPLE WHO HATE ME WITH EVERY BONE N THEY BODY. I WAS SENT TO PRISON FOR 10 YEARS FOR 3rd MARIJUANA. FOR BEING A USER LOL NO REHAB ,NO PROBATION SENT STRAIGHT TO PRISON .AT THIS POINT I NEED A PARDEN FROM WHOEVER WINS @VP @realDonaldTrump,” he wrote.

Boosie's legal troubles stem from a San Diego gun case. Initially dismissed, the case resurfaced less than two weeks later, bringing charges of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a felon, along with an additional charge related to controlled substances. The rapper faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Boosie's call for clemency comes amid past tensions with Donald Trump. In 2022, Boosie criticized Trump's tough stance on drug offenses, which included a proposal for the death penalty for drug dealers. Boosie questioned whether such measures would extend to police officers who kill innocent individuals, indicating a deep-seated discord with Trump's policies.

Despite these past issues, Boosie has expressed willingness to seek a pardon from whichever candidate prevails in the November election.
