Wendy Stone, a 63-year-old resident of Upstate New York, has been arrested on multiple charges, including theft of government funds and aggravated identity theft. The allegations against Stone have shocked the local community, revealing a grisly case of deceit and concealment

.

Stone faces accusations of hiding the body of her deceased boyfriend, Kenneth Crisman, in a basement bin of their Rochester home. The charges include theft of Social Security benefits and making false statements to secure those benefits. According to the criminal complaint filed by the U.S. Attorney's Office, Stone did not report Crisman's death, which occurred on December 28, 2022. Instead, she and her son are alleged to have discovered his body several days later and subsequently attempted to hide it.

Reports indicate that Stone stored Crisman's body in a recycling bin in the basement and used bleach to mask the odor from January to September 2023. During this period, she is said to have continued collecting his Social Security payments, fraudulently benefiting from his account.

In addition to the theft of benefits amounting to $7,902, Stone allegedly drained Crisman's bank card shortly after his death. Transactions recorded include purchases at various stores and an account opened at Rent-A-Center, where Stone spent over $1,800. She claimed no changes in her household status, which led to discrepancies in her own benefit eligibility

.

The community's reaction has been one of shock and dismay. Neighbors have expressed their astonishment, reflecting on the disturbing nature of the crime. Despite the serious financial misconduct, no charges have been filed related to Crisman's death itself.

If convicted, Stone faces up to ten years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The case continues to unfold as authorities investigate the full extent of the alleged crimes.
