Post Malone, now known for his foray into pop and country music, has opened up about the impact of early-career criticism in a recent CBS Sunday Morning interview. Speaking candidly about his experiences, Post Malone revealed that accusations of being a “culture vulture” during his initial hip-hop phase deeply affected him and led to a period of heavy drinking.

“It sucked. I was a kid,” Post Malone confessed. “I dealt with it by drinking a lot. I absolutely took it personal. It’s hard not to.” Despite these challenges, the artist has adopted a positive outlook, asserting, “You don’t make music for the people who hate you. It’s for the people who love you, and for yourself.”

Post Malone has also addressed recent concerns regarding his health. Following noticeable weight loss, fans speculated about possible drug use. However, the singer clarified on Instagram after his show in Antwerp, Belgium in April 2023 that his changes in appearance were due to healthier lifestyle choices. “I’m having a lot of fun performing, and have never felt healthier,” he stated. “Dad life kicked in and I decided to kick soda and start eating better.”

Looking ahead, Post Malone plans to quit smoking and drinking beer, further demonstrating his commitment to improving his health. He has been working on new music and shared his excitement about upcoming projects, noting, “I’ve spent a bit in the studio lately working on new music, and am so excited to share it with you.”

As he continues to evolve both personally and professionally, Post Malone remains dedicated to his craft and his fans, emphasizing the importance of spreading love and positivity.
