Fans of Kid Cudi and Kanye West were surprised this month with a new collaboration from the duo. However, it appears that Kid Cudi himself was caught off guard by the release.

On Sunday, August 25, Cudi took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his shock upon discovering that "Gun to My Head," a bonus track from Kanye West's album *Vultures 2*, had been released. The song, which features Ty Dolla $ign alongside Cudi, was not previously announced.

Reacting to a fan's praise of his performance on the track, Cudi initially thought the song was still unreleased. He tweeted, “Its tasty. Hope Ye drops that one day.” When informed by another fan that the track was already out and available for purchase on Kanye’s website (though it appeared to be sold out), Cudi responded with surprise: “What da hell is he doin??? Haha ima talk to him.”

"Gun to My Head" is part of a collection of bonus tracks from *Vultures 2*, including other deluxe editions like “Take Off Your Dress,” “Believer,” and “Drunk” featuring Kodak Black, Bad Bunny, Peso Pluma, and Travis Scott. These tracks are currently only purchasable through Kanye’s Yeezy website and have yet to appear on streaming platforms.

Despite their longstanding collaboration history since 2008, including notable tracks like “Gorgeous” and “Erase Me,” and the joint album *Kids See Ghosts* in 2018, Cudi and Kanye’s relationship has had its ups and downs. Their most significant falling out occurred in 2022, when Kanye excluded Cudi from *Donda 2* due to Cudi’s friendship with comedian Pete Davidson. However, the two eventually reconciled after an apology from Kanye, leading to their renewed partnership.

Cudi's surprise at the unexpected release highlights the ongoing dynamic between the two artists, blending collaboration with occasional unexpected twists.
