In a viral video, Nyamu labeled the young protesters as "fools," criticizing them for focusing on the behaviors of some politicians rather than addressing their own concerns, such as unemployment.
Nyamu's remarks came as a reaction to the widespread protests that had garnered significant media and presidential attention. She expressed disappointment that the youth had not used the opportunity to present their demands directly to President William Ruto.
