Kawangware, Nairobi — In a startling turn of events, a househelp in Kawangware has confessed to stealing a gold ring valued at Ksh 683,000 from her employer and subsequently selling it for a mere Ksh 4,000.
The incident came to light when the employer reported the missing ring to the local authorities. An investigation led to the househelp's confession, revealing that she had taken the valuable piece of jewelry and sold it at a significant loss.
According to police reports, the househelp, whose identity has been withheld, admitted to the crime and explained that financial desperation drove her to sell the ring at a fraction of its worth. The ring's low resale value was attributed to its quick sale in an informal market.
The househelp has been arrested and is facing charges related to theft and possession of stolen property. The investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to recover the stolen ring or its equivalent value.
