Big Sean has unveiled a fresh track titled "Fighting Fires" ahead of his upcoming album *Better Me Than You*, set to release on August 30. This new song, which debuted exclusively on SoundCloud, repurposes a beat from Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s recent album *Vultures 2*. The instrumental closely mirrors that of "My Soul," a track from the album's spiritual conclusion.

While Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign's "My Soul" delves into themes of religion, racism, and mass incarceration—featuring vocals from Ty’s incarcerated brother TC—Big Sean’s "Fighting Fires" takes a different approach. Sean uses the track to assert his superiority in the rap game, referencing his respect among street communities and drawing comparisons to sports figures like Barry Sanders.

In addition to "Fighting Fires," Sean briefly released another track titled "Dirty Work" on SoundCloud, but it has since been removed. It remains uncertain if either song will make it onto *Better Me Than You*.

The release of "Fighting Fires" follows an unconventional album rollout for Big Sean, who faced a setback when *Better Me Than You* was leaked in its entirety earlier this summer, allegedly at the behest of Kanye West. Despite initial doubts about West’s involvement, Sean has openly discussed his struggles and mental health challenges in recent weeks.

In an emotional Instagram Live session, Sean revealed his ongoing battle with overthinking and stress, attributing his perseverance to his mother’s support. "I appreciate my mom for being that guardian angel and always giving me that advice," Sean said. "She really talked me through it, for real."

As fans anticipate the official release of *Better Me Than You*, "Fighting Fires" offers a glimpse into Big Sean’s evolving sound and personal struggles, marking a significant moment in his career.
