A$AP Rocky's highly anticipated album *Don't Be Dumb* will no longer meet its original release date of August 30, as confirmed by Billboard in a recent cover story. The delay has been attributed to ongoing issues with leaks that have marred the rollout process.

In the interview, the Harlem rapper expressed frustration over how leaks have impacted his work. “At this point, I’ve been working on music for six years, but they leak my music and I get over it and say, ‘Fuck it,’” Rocky lamented. He revealed that the leak of his ‘Taylor Swift’ video, which he ultimately chose not to release, was a particular blow.

Despite the setback, Rocky remains positive about the album, describing it as the most significant work of his career. He stated that the project, which has been in development for about a year, explores heavier and more profound themes compared to his previous releases. The 35-year-old artist attributes this shift to his personal growth and the current state of the world.

One notable track from the album, “Shroom Cloud,” is described as an experimental piece addressing global issues and conflicts. Rocky himself has characterized *Don't Be Dumb* as a blend of “German expressionism [and] ghetto futurism.”

Rocky also shared that he played the album for renowned director Tim Burton, who expressed interest in the music but was unable to contribute to the album's cover art. The project features contributions from composer Danny Elfman and producers such as The Alchemist, Metro Boomin, Tyler, The Creator, Pharrell, Madlib, and Mike Dean.

*Don't Be Dumb* will mark Rocky’s first album release in six years, following his 2018 LP *Testing*. The new album is expected to deliver a more mature and introspective perspective from the rapper.
