50 Cent has recently expressed regret over his past feuds with fellow New York rap icons Cam’ron, Fat Joe, and Jadakiss during the 2000s. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the “In Da Club” legend discussed the competitive nature of those beefs and how they ultimately led to wasted time.

When asked about any regrets throughout his lengthy and controversial career, 50 Cent candidly stated, “Look, I think we wasted too much time arguing, me and Fat Joe, me and Cam’ron. There are other guys like Jada[kiss], and we cleared things up more easily.”

He elaborated on his issues with Fat Joe, emphasizing their similarities in character: “It went on more with Joe because he’s more like me. When we’re at odds, we really go at it. His loyalty to Irv [Gotti] and Ja [Rule] played a role. I saw him unhappy with my success, and it turned into some tension. But now he’s like my friend, and I don’t mind that he has relationships with people I don’t.”

Reflecting on his intense rivalry with Fat Joe, which included shots fired in songs like “Piggy Bank” and “My FoFo,” 50 Cent acknowledged that he might have been too aggressive: “If anybody went next to Ja Rule, I’d jump on the person who featured with them. So that energy, later you look at it and you go, ‘I was buggin’.'”

Despite the past animosity, 50 Cent recognizes the loyalty in Fat Joe: “He’s the kind of guy you want to be friends with because he’s loyal to a default. We became enemies over one record that [Murder Inc.] did with him.”

In the world of hip-hop, feuds and rivalries often shape artists’ legacies. For 50 Cent, looking back, it’s clear that some of those battles were unnecessary, and he now values the friendships he has forged.
