Twitch streamers Kai Cenat and Fanum, known for their YouTube video creation team AMP, recently made headlines after their eviction from a New York City penthouse. The duo, originally from The Bronx, returned to the city, but their homecoming took an unexpected turn.

During the Dominican Day Parade, NYPD officers pointed a gun at Fanum and seized his purple Lamborghini Urus. Fanum claimed he had a permit to ride along the parade route, but the NYPD cited the lack of license plates on the vehicle as the reason for the stop. Fanum’s livestream captured footage of the arrest, and he later confirmed his intent to sue on Instagram.

Kai Cenat, reacting to the incident on his Twitch stream, didn’t mince words. “NYPD is a gang,” he said. “Not even the GTA V cops do this sh*t, dude.” Cenat criticized the officer’s photo op, questioning the badge number’s visibility in the Instagram posts. He also argued that pulling a gun on Fanum was excessive.

This isn’t the first time Fanum and Cenat have faced legal trouble. In August 2023, they were both briefly in NYPD custody after a PS5 giveaway turned into a riot in Union Square. The recent arrest has reignited debates about content creators’ responsibility in managing their fans. Fans hope for a swift resolution, grateful that the situation didn’t escalate further.
