Debuting at No. 1 on the chart with an impressive 281,000 equivalent album-units, Em’s 12th LP unseated Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department, which had held the position for an unbroken 12-week streak, according to Billboard.
In a remarkable feat, The Death of Slim Shady now claims the title of the biggest rap debut of 2024, surpassing the previous benchmark set by Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You, which sold 251,000 units.
Notably, Eminem’s latest offering also achieved the second-largest digital launch of the year, amassing 114,000 digital sales. Only Taylor Swift’s 274,000 digital sales for her own album outpaced Em’s impressive numbers. Fans eagerly await the physical release of The Death of Slim Shady, scheduled for September 13.
