Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has called on Kenyans to shift away from negativity and recognize the strides made by the President William Ruto administration. Speaking at the Pentecostal Evangelistic Fellowship of Africa (PEFA) Church in Mwea, Kirinyaga County, Gachagua emphasized the need to appreciate the government’s efforts despite criticism.

Gachagua highlighted several areas where the administration has excelled, including:

  1. Education: The government streamlined the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) system, ensuring quality education for Kenyan students.
  2. Infrastructure: President Ruto’s administration resumed stalled road projects, enhancing transport infrastructure across the country.
  3. Employment: Over 56,000 teachers were employed in a single year, bolstering the education sector.
  4. Agriculture: The waiver of coffee debts and efforts to distribute subsidized fertilizer to rice farmers demonstrate the commitment to food production.
  5. Good Governance: Gachagua praised the President’s accountability measures and commitment to rebuilding the economy.

The Deputy President also urged young people to refrain from violent protests, emphasizing that the government is addressing their concerns. He pledged to tackle challenges such as invasive snails and rats affecting rice production in Mwea.

Gachagua’s call for positivity comes amidst ongoing debates about the administration’s performance. His message resonates with those who believe in acknowledging progress while constructively addressing areas for improvement.
