Owino arrived at the police station accompanied by a group of supporters and fellow activists, all carrying placards demanding justice and the release of those arrested during the protests. The demonstrations, which have swept across several major cities in Kenya over the past week, were organized to demand government accountability and action on pressing social and economic issues affecting citizens.

In a brief statement to the media gathered outside the station, Babu Owino emphasized the importance of upholding constitutional rights to peaceful assembly and free expression. He condemned what he described as heavy-handed tactics by law enforcement in response to the peaceful protests.

"I am here today to stand with the people of Kenya who are exercising their democratic rights," Owino declared, his voice unwavering. "It is unacceptable that peaceful demonstrators have been subjected to arrests and intimidation simply for voicing their concerns."

The Member of Parliament reiterated his call for dialogue between the government and protest organizers, urging authorities to release those detained without delay. He pledged to continue advocating for the rights of all Kenyans to peacefully express their grievances and hold their leaders accountable.

Inside the police station, Babu Owino engaged in discussions with senior officers, pressing for transparency and fair treatment of the detainees. Reports indicate that negotiations are ongoing, with representatives from civil society and legal experts also present to monitor proceedings.

The demonstrations in Kenya have underscored simmering discontent over issues ranging from economic inequality to government corruption. Despite attempts by authorities to quell unrest, including the deployment of riot police, protesters remain resolute in their demands for meaningful change.
