In a groundbreaking development, scientists have identified a planet outside our solar system with the potential to support human life. Dubbed Gliese 12 b, this newfound celestial body offers hope for the possibility of interplanetary habitation.

The discovery, detailed in a study published in Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, marks a significant step forward in our quest to find habitable worlds beyond Earth. Gliese 12 b, located a mere 40 light years away, exhibits promising conditions for sustaining life.

With an average estimated surface temperature of 107 degrees Fahrenheit, Gliese 12 b boasts the lowest recorded temperature among the approximately 5,000 exoplanets discovered thus far. Its proximity in temperature to Earth raises the tantalizing prospect of habitability.

Discovered by an international team of scientists utilizing NASA's Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS), Gliese 12 b orbits a red dwarf star and is only slightly smaller than Earth. This proximity in size and temperature positions it as a prime candidate for further investigation.
