Police Arrest Suspect Behind Shooting of American Embassy Employee at Club in Kiambu

Kiambu - Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have made a significant breakthrough in the case of the fatal shooting of an American Embassy employee in Kiambu. Anthony Njomo, aged 35, was tragically shot dead outside a club in Kiambu town on Saturday, May 25.



Njomo's death occurred around 3 am outside the Quckin Lounge in Kiambu town. According to reports, the shooting took place during a commotion that began inside the bar and later escalated outside. Njomo sustained fatal injuries after being shot in the back.


Following extensive investigations, the main suspect behind the shooting has been apprehended. Nason Kiteme, a 28-year-old branding manager at Comfort Homes, was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting. The nightclub's proprietor, Alfred Nganga, confirmed that the incident was captured by surveillance cameras facing the road.


The tragic incident has left Njomo's family and friends devastated. Martoh Muriithi, a cousin of the deceased, took to social media to share the sad news of Njomo's untimely death. Njomo leaves behind one son and an unborn baby, adding to the sorrow of his sudden passing.


In response to the incident, questions have been raised about security measures at entertainment establishments, particularly regarding the presence of firearms. Concerns have been voiced about the need for stricter regulations and enforcement to prevent similar tragedies in the future.


As investigations continue, authorities are working to ensure that justice is served for Anthony Njomo and his family, while also addressing broader concerns about public safety and security.
