Kiambu County, Kenya - In a shocking turn of events, Gatundu North MP Elijah Njoroge and Thika Town MP Alice Ng’ang’a were disarmed by detectives in Kiambu County and had their licensed firearms seized for ballistic testing. This comes as part of an ongoing investigation into the fatal shooting of a 26-year-old boda boda rider, David Nduati, during a violent clash over a contested Ksh55 million market project.

According to sources, Nduati was caught in the crossfire between supporters of different political factions who were vying for control over the lucrative market project. The clash turned deadly when shots were fired, leaving Nduati fatally wounded. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

In light of this tragic incident, authorities have been working tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice. As part of their investigation, they have called for the surrender of any firearms belonging to the political leaders who were present during the violent clash. So far, Gatundu North MP Elijah Njoroge and Thika Town MP Alice Ng’ang’a have complied with the summons and have had their firearms seized for ballistic testing.

However, authorities are now in pursuit of Gatundu South MP Gabriel Kagombe, who has ignored the summons to surrender his firearm. In a statement, the investigating officer expressed disappointment at Kagombe’s disregard for the law and urged him to come forward and cooperate with the investigation.

The disarming of the MPs has sparked mixed reactions from the public. While some commend the authorities for taking swift action, others have criticized the politicians for instigating violence and bringing harm to innocent citizens.

Meanwhile, the family of the deceased is still grappling with the loss of their loved one. Nduati, a hardworking and dedicated boda boda rider, was the sole breadwinner for his family. They are now calling for justice and are hopeful that the investigation will reveal the truth behind his untimely death.

The community has also been left in shock and disbelief over the violent clash that led to Nduati’s death. Many are calling for an end to the use of violence in political disputes and for leaders to lead by example and resolve issues through peaceful means.

As the investigation continues, the public is urged to remain calm and patient while the authorities work towards bringing those responsible to justice. The seizure of the MPs' firearms is just one step towards finding the truth and ensuring that justice is served for David Nduati and his grieving family.
