Machakos, Kenya — In a heart-wrenching incident, the lifeless body of a female student was discovered in a rented house in Katoloni estate, Machakos Township. The victim, identified as Gechemba, was a 1.2-meter-tall English Literature student at Machakos University.
The Mysterious Circumstances
The events unfolded around 2100 hours on the fateful night. Gechemba’s boyfriend, who is also a fellow student at the university, found her lifeless body in their shared residence at Diaspora rentals. Shockingly, her hands were bound behind her using shoe laces, and blood was seeping from her ears and nose.
Investigation Underway
Local authorities swiftly responded to the distress call and secured the scene. Preliminary investigations indicate that Gechemba may have collapsed, but the exact cause of her death remains shrouded in mystery. Two suspects, including her boyfriend, are currently in custody at the Machakos police station.

As the investigation continues, the Machakos subcounty police commander, Emmanuel Okanda, urges students to prioritize their safety and well-being. He emphasizes the importance of avoiding criminal activities and seeking counseling services when needed.
