Power Outages to Hit Four Counties on Saturday, Kenya Power Says

Kenya Power has announced that four counties will experience power interruptions on Saturday due to maintenance works on its network.

The affected counties are Nairobi, Uasin Gishu, Trans Nzoia and Embu. The power company said the interruptions will occur at different times of the day, depending on the location.

In Nairobi, some parts of the city will have no electricity from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. These include Coptic Hospital, Royal Golf Clubs, China Centre, Lexo Petrol, Former Uchumi, Rose Avenue, George Padmore, Marcus Garvey, St. Nicholas Senior and Junior Sch, Carrefour, China City, Yaya Centre, Kilimani Mall, Naivas Kilimani, Timau Plaza, Circle Mall, Tigoni Rd, Timau Rd, Four Point, Nine Planes, Sudan Embassy, Kibera Law Courts, DC’s Office, Kibera Police Stn, Makena Mosque, Kibera Kichinjio, Makena, Lindi, Mashimoni, Kambi Muru, Part of Gatwikira and adjacent customers.

In Uasin Gishu, the power outage will affect Eldoret Town, Eldoret Airport, Eldoret Industrial Area, Eldoret West, Eldoret East, Eldoret South, Eldoret North, Kapsaret, Kapsoya, Chepkoilel, Kesses, Moiben, Turbo and Soy from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm.

In Trans Nzoia, the power interruption will affect Kitale Town, Kitale Industrial Area, Kitale West, Kitale East, Kitale South, Kitale North, Endebess, Saboti, Kiminini, Cherangany, Kwanza and Kaplamai from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm.

In Embu, the power outage will affect Embu Town, Embu Industrial Area, Embu West, Embu East, Embu South, Embu North, Runyenjes, Siakago, Kiritiri, Ishiara, Gachoka, Mbeere, Kianjokoma and Kithimu from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Kenya Power said the interruptions are necessary to facilitate maintenance and upgrade of its power lines and substations. It also advised its customers to treat all electrical installations as live during the outage period, as power may be restored without notice.

The power company apologized for any inconvenience caused by the interruptions and assured its customers of its commitment to provide quality and reliable power supply.
