A homeless man was brutally murdered and dismembered with at least one power tool in his killer’s high rise flat, before his body parts were thrown out of the window, according to police.

The horrific incident took place on Friday night at a tower block in the city of Manchester, England. Police were alerted by residents who reported seeing human remains falling from the 16th floor of the building.

Officers arrived at the scene and discovered a severed head, torso, arms and legs scattered on the ground and on the roof of a nearby car park. They also found blood stains and traces of flesh on the window of the flat where the murder occurred.

The victim has been identified as a 40-year-old homeless man who had been staying at the flat with the suspect, a 34-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder. Police believe the suspect used a saw or a drill to cut up the victim’s body, before throwing the parts out of the window.

Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Wilkinson, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is a truly shocking and disturbing case, and our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this very difficult time. We are working to establish the full circumstances of what happened, and how and why the victim was killed. We have a suspect in custody, and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident. However, we are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward and help us with our inquiries.”

He added: “This is a very complex and sensitive investigation, and we have a team of specialist officers and forensic experts working on the case. We are also providing support and reassurance to the residents of the tower block, who have been understandably shocked and distressed by this incident. We ask for their patience and cooperation as we carry out our investigation.”
