Woman killed by lightning in Narok County

A 45-year-old woman was killed by lightning in Olongoloto Sub Location, Dikirr, Narok County, on Tuesday evening.


According to the police, the victim, identified as Tekeret Ole Iserere, was walking from her house to another one when she was struck by lightning during a heavy downpour.


She died on the spot and her body was taken to the nearby health centre for postmortem.


The area chief, Samuel Kipkemoi, confirmed the incident and urged residents to be cautious during the rainy season.


He said that lightning strikes are common in the area and advised people to avoid open fields and trees when it is raining.


He also asked the government to install lightning arresters in the area to prevent such tragedies.


The incident has left the residents in shock and grief, as they mourn the loss of one of their own.


Tekeret Ole Iserere is survived by her husband and four children.
