At least 20 people have been injured after a mini-bus they were travelling in crashed into the Nairobi-Expressway along Mombasa road on Tuesday morning.
According to the police, the matatu was heading to Nairobi from Mombasa when it hit the barricade of the Expressway at Mlolongo in Machakos county and overturned.

The injured passengers were rushed to various hospitals in the area for treatment. The driver of the matatu escaped from the scene and is being sought by the police.
The police have also launched investigations into the cause of the accident and urged motorists to observe traffic rules and exercise caution on the road.
The Nairobi-Expressway is a 27-kilometre road project that aims to ease congestion and improve connectivity between Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Westlands. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
