Two parents from Gichagi village in Ngong, Kajiado County, are demanding justice for their three children who were brutally attacked and injured by two suspects who are still at large.

The parents, Loise Wanjiro and Wilson Magut, said the incident occurred on November 23, 2023, around 6 pm, when their children were on their way home from school. They said their children were accosted by two men who are known to them, and who have a grudge against them over a land dispute.

The attackers, who were armed with a hoe stick and a machete, beat up the children mercilessly, leaving them with serious wounds and fractures. The eldest child, Obama Kiprotich, 13, suffered a deep cut on his back and a broken elbow. His siblings, Faith Wanjiku, 11, and Brian Kipkoech, 9, sustained injuries on their heads, legs and arms.

The parents said they rushed their children to Ngong Sub-County Hospital, where they received treatment and were discharged. However, they said they are still in pain and trauma, and they fear for their safety.

The parents said they reported the matter to the Ngong Police Station, and identified the assailants by name and address. However, they said the police have not arrested the suspects, and have not taken any action to protect them from further harm.

The parents appealed to the authorities to intervene and ensure that justice is done for their children. They also urged the public to help them in tracing the whereabouts of the attackers, who they said are a threat to the peace and security of the village.

The Ngong OCPD, John Njoroge, confirmed that they received the report of the attack, and said they are investigating the matter. He said they are looking for the suspects, and assured the parents that they will be brought to book. He also urged the residents to remain calm and cooperate with the police in the probe.
