The Ministry of Labour has announced that Kenyan nurses can apply for vacancies to work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The ministry said that the opportunities are part of a bilateral agreement between the two governments to enhance cooperation in the health sector.

The ministry did not reveal the exact number of vacancies available, but said that interested candidates can submit their applications through the ministry's website. The applicants must meet the minimum qualifications and requirements set by the KSA authorities.

Labour Principal Secretary Shadrack Mwadime said that the initiative has benefited thousands of Kenyans who have secured employment in different economic sectors in the KSA. He added that the KSA has expressed willingness to recruit more health workers from Kenya to address the shortage of medical staff in the country.

"This is a great opportunity for our nurses to gain international exposure and experience, as well as to earn a decent income. We urge them to take advantage of this offer and apply as soon as possible," Mwadime said in a statement.

He also assured the applicants that the ministry will facilitate their travel and accommodation arrangements, and ensure that they are treated fairly and respectfully in the KSA. He urged them to uphold high standards of professionalism and ethics while working abroad.
