Tragically, 14 lives were lost in Northern Kenya due to the destructive force of the floods. Additionally, Nairobi witnessed two separate incidents where two young boys lost their lives by drowning. Furthermore, the gravity of the situation escalated as the River Tana breached its banks, causing hundreds of families in areas such as Windsor, Bulla Sheikh, Bulla Punda, Ziwani, Bakuyu in Garissa County, and Mororo in Tana River County to be displaced from their homes. The extent of the damage wrought by these torrential waters underscores the urgency for communities to prioritize safety and respond to evacuation directives in times of natural disasters.
